The Tenth Muse Coffeehouse will hold our final coffeehouses on May 8 and May 22. On Saturday, May 8, we are pleased to present the Kent area premiere of Paggl Colla accompanied by Rainsong and Mudslide. Peggi has performed numerous times for women's and political events in the Greater Cleveland area, and we look forward to fine evening of entertainment by this talented singer-guitarist. The final coffeehouse will be on Saturday, May 22. Call 678-6665 or 673-8074 for details. Doors for both events open at 8:00 p.m. and music begins at 9:30 p.m. The Muse is located at 202 N. Oven Productions will present Therese Edell and Betsy Lippitt in concert on Saturday, May 15. Watch What She Wants for information on the time and location-you won't want to miss these dynamic performers. The May 22 Women's Open House will feature music by Rainsong & Mudslide with jazz guitarist Lesile Fortlage and other friends. On June 26, come welcome Karen Citino and friends in their first performance at the Open House. The Women's Open House is a coffeehouse held on the 4th Saturday of each month at 2728 Lancashire (off Coventry near Mayfield). We are open from 8:00 p.m. until midnight with music beginning at 9:00 p.m. Coffee, teas, juice and snacks are available, and a $1.50 donation is asked at the door. Women in Music, at the Beck Center in Lakewood on Sunday, May 23, at 8:00 p.m., will feature the Oberlin Chamber singers directed by Carol Longworth, with a celebration of music by women composers. For ticket information call the Beck Center at 521-2540.
The 15th annual Hessler Road Arts and Crafts Fair will take place May 22-23, from noon till dusk. Jewelry, pottery, stained glass, wood crafts, photography, textiles, and other acts and crafts will be featured. International and vegetarian foods will also be offered, and music and mime will entertain you. The National Women's Music Festival, formerly held in Champaign, .lllinois, has moved to Bloomington, Indiana, and will be held June 4-6, 1982. Performers include Margie Adam, Ginni Clemmens, Alive!, Teresa ̧· Trull & Julie Homi, Mary Watkins, Edwina Lee Tyler & A Piece of the World, Concerted Effort, Kay Gardner & Friends, and Robin Tyler. The third annual West Coast Women's Music Festival is being held September 23-26 on 2200 acres of land, 21⁄2 hours north of San Francisco. Festival tickets are $80-$100 sliding scale and are limited to 4000. Food and childcare are provided. Boys under 10 are welcome. The camp is accessible to disabled women. Conferences, Workshops & Lectures
The Women's Comprehensive Program at Cleveland State University has a Re-Entry Women's Project which helps women who have interrupted, delayed, or deferred their education. The Project includes academic and career counseling, financial aid information, and information about CLEP (College Level Examination Program), as well as a supportive environment for women. As part of the Project, Brown Bag Lunches are scheduled for May 11 (12:15-1:15) and May 19 (2:30-3:30), in Room 124, Corlett Building, 1935 Euclid Avenue. For more information, call 687-4674.
Perspectives on Women (GED 151) will be offered by Cleveland State University's Women's Comprehensive Program during Spring Quarler 1982. The National Women's Studies Association is holding its Fourth Annual Conference at Humboldt State University in Arcata, California June 16-20, 1982. The theme is "Feminist Connections Throughout Educa tion". The United Church Coalition for Lesbian/Gay Concerns will hold its second national gathering July 15-17m, 1982 at Columbus, Ohlo. Hope, Courage, Inspiration and Creativity is the theme of the 11th Women's Writing Conference/Retreat sponsored by The International Women's Writing Guild which will take place at Skidmore College, Saratoga Springs, NY, August 13-20, 1982. The conference is open to all women regardless of professional writing accomplishments and attracts over 250 attendees each year.
